That’s not a sensible question. IBOs are an extremely heterogenous group, thus average is at best meaningless and usually misleading. Amway US publishes an overall average because of a 30yr old government order, but it says nothing. The only people who “use” it are critics trying to claim people don’t make money, since the “average” is about $115/mth. These critics neglect of course to mention the great majority of IBOs don’t even try to make money!

What is the average income for an IBO?

insider201283 | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

At Amway North America (then Quixtar) Diamond Club in 2007 there were approximately 160 qualified diamond and above iboships (more than 300 people) in attendance. Total bonuses and incentives for the previous year totaled $370.1million.

Back2BackJack | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

How many DIamonds are in the US?

insider201283 | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

That average was for the US in 2005 (not globally) and for qualified Diamondships (which may include two people). Globally there’s 2000-3000 qualified Diamondships, with most couples, so more than 4000. In short, your numbers are wrong.

Yes, the conventions (run by independent companies) are indeed significantly cheaper than similar seminars provided to people outside of Amway. Great value, and the statistics indicate that the majority of people who actually implement the techniques and teachings do earn significant incomes from Amway.

Back2BackJack | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

I’ve heard of IBO’s paying $100 a ticket for convention’s where you “learn” skills as well as introductory payments and cost for business learning materials. They certainly make some money from selling people the “secrets” to becoming successful. It’s not impossible to become wealthy with Amway, but very few people achieve that sort of success.

r1ight0n, Amway is a very large manufacturer with over 13,000 employees. It produces and sells the worlds best selling nutritional supplements, Nutrilite, and one of the world’s top selling cosmetics brands, Artistry. “Sales of marketing materials” is an almost non-existent component of the $8.2billion. Please do some proper research instead of believing anti-Amway propaganda on the internet.

r1ght0n | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

to the “believer” – what value in the economy is Amway producing? where does its “8 billion” dollars really come from? where does it go? real companies product products that have actual value in the market. Amway sells dreams which its followers pay money to try to be a part of. If you were to separate out Amyway’s actual product sales from its sales of marketing material lower level members what would net revenue be???

offthehook2 | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

It will take a dream, a desire, consistent, and I will always believe in the Amway business. Yes, some abused it, but I am wise enough to not blame even my faults on anyone else.

Plus egos and newbies who don’t learn first and stop hyping a great business. Amway doesn’t need hype but integrity.

It has treated me well. Great video. Thanks for sharing video. I downloaded it!

Amway is a great tool to earn money if you know how to use it. The same goes to gun, if you know how to use it, it can be a very useful tool. A lot of people have misused this tool that lead to so many disasters and the same goes to Amway. Amway business is built on the base of trust and integrity. Just because of a few rotten apples…..

insider201283 | October 27, 2009 at 12:02 pm

from 1999 to 2006, Quixtar made 6 billion dollars total. Quixtar was Amway North America. Amway Globally in 2006 did over 6 billion dollars. In 2008 Amway globally did over $8.2 billion. “Average” IBO income is $115/mth, but that “average” includes the majority of folk who just shop and don’t work to earn an income. In other words their income is close to $0/mth and brings down that average. Average for a Diamond business (there’s over 4000 at this level) is over $150,000/yr

I don’t know. The brochure with the cd and the DVD that they give u said that from 1999 to 2006 Amway/Quixtar made 6 billion dollars. But the person trying to recruit u says, oh they make 6 billion a year! That same folder also says that the average IBO makes 83 dollars a month or something like that. Whatever it was, it was not impressive enough to convince me!
Sorry!!

Every multi $billion global company takes its knocks, and this company – Amway – is doing the right things today to bring into focus its perception vs. reality. Kudos to them.
